Summary: Life can be better when you awaken your inner monk… and meditation is the way to do it
The What
Your inner monk is that part of your being that came with you into the world; it’s that part of you that is innately good. In Buddhist traditions, we call it your basic goodness or Buddha nature.
Regardless if you’re a Buddhist, a Christian, a Muslim, Jew, or even nothing at all, your innate goodness is what I call your inner monk.
I think giving our inner monk a personality of sorts helps the concept make more sense. I think we can agree that most monks are kind, gentle, compassionate, and possess a certain amount of wisdom.
