You might think that this a pretentious thing to do.
The image you have might as conjured up is probably off a bit. I didn’t sit cross-legged on the floor, bring a cushion, or chant. (Can you imagine?😬)
I simply sat in my chair at Gate C11 at the Portland International Airport, arranged my two backpacks directly in front of me in a secure position, and sat. My earbuds safely in, I opened the Insight Timer app and selected the background music that I preferred (a Tibetan mix of deep cello and some deep-toned bells) and focused on my breath.
Here’s what I did today at Gate C11 and what I do most days:
When I meditate, I start with being conscious of my body’s weight on the seat and the floor. Feeling gratitude for the opportunity to take this noble seat of meditation. This is referred to as mindfulness of the body.
